According to a report by Kathmandu Post, former King Gyanendra met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow before being active in Nepal’s politics. Yogi Adityanath is the Peethadhishwar of Gorakhnath Peeth and is now the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as well as a big and influential leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Monarchy ended in 2006
The monarchy ended in Nepal in the year 2006 and a new constitution was implemented in 2008. But since then there has been political instability in Nepal and the Prime Minister has been changed 13 times. The government which is currently in power, is also fully running with the help of alliance and support. According to a report by Nepal Journals, development work in Nepal was done during the monarchy than democratic rule. It has been reported in the report that in the year 1990, Nepal’s per capita GDP was Rs 16,769, while at the same time India’s per capita GDP was recorded at Rs 32,145.
However, in 2019 the figure completely changed. In 2019, Nepal’s per capita GDP increased to Rs 93,554, but India’s per capita GDP reached Rs 1,83,440. This clearly shows that Nepal remained far behind India in terms of development. Corruption and inflation in Nepal are currently at its peak. Apart from this, people of Madhesh (Border) region of Nepal are also facing a lot of trouble due to deteriorating relations with India. Due to impact on import-export and trade from India, the lives of the people of this region have become difficult.
