Akshay Kumar Facted a Tough time at the box office post-2022, with a string of underperforming films. However, his fortunes turned Around in 2023 with the release of ‘OMG 2‘, which emerged as a success. Before that, his film ‘Selfieee‘Hit theatres but failed to make a mark commercially. Now, Actor-Turned-Director Prithviraj Sukumaran has revised that akshay had not charged any feet for the 2023 release.
In a recent conversation with pinkvilla, prithviraj shared an interesting detail about akshay’s approach to remun for ‘selfie’. He revised that the bollywood star did not take any payment for the film and had put forth a unique condition – He would account his fee only only if the movie turns out to be a hit.

“I have produced a film with akshay kumar, sir. He did not take a single rupee. He only said, ‘if the film makes money, then i’ll take my remuneration.’ The film did not do well, and he did not take any money, “Prithviraj stated.

Following Selfiee’s Box Office Disappointment, ‘OMG 2’ Provided Akshay with a MUCH-Needed Hit. Selfie was the hindi adaptation of the 2019 malayalam film ‘Driving License‘, which starred prithviraj sukumaran in the lead and was produced by Him. The film depicted a Clash Between an RTO Inspector and a celebrated actor. Unlike its bollywood remake, the original malayalam version was a commercial hit.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for ‘Jolly llb 3’. He also has made major projects lined up, including ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Housefull 5’, ‘Hera Pheri 3’, and ‘Kesari Chapter 2’. At the same time, prithviraj is busy promoting his most awaited release, ‘L2: Empuraan‘, Starring Mohanlal.
