Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’ has proved to be one juggernaut of a film. It has broken every record in India in terms of its domestic box office collection. As far as the worldwide box office collection is concerned, the movie stands at the number 2 spot. The first position is still occupied by Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’. Now that the film has reached its 35th day, it has begun to reach a saturation point at the domestic as well as the international box office.
On day 35, the movie made around Rs 2.15 crore in India. The total domestic collection so far, according to Sacnilk, now stands at Rs 1213 crore.
Meanwhile, the makers had announced that they will release an extended version of the movie with more 20minutes added to the film. But that has now been delayed due to technical reasons in processing the content. The extended version will now release on January 17. However, before that, on January 14, Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ is releasing which may pose a major competition to ‘Pushpa 2’ and then people may prefer watching this new release directed by S. Shankar.
After 35 days, the worldwide box office collection of the movie now stands at Rs 1,840 crores. But it is Rs 230 crore away from crossing the worldwide collection record of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ which is Rs 2070 crore. It has already crossed the record of Prabhas starrer ‘Baahubali 2’.
However, this looks difficult as from January 14 onwards, the number of screens allotted to ‘Pushpa 2’ may reduce with Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ releasing in the theatres.
