He said that Sonu Nigam’s performance at ‘Rising Rajasthan Dinner’ was disappointing. Although Sonu Nigam is my friend and has previously performed with Bikram Ghosh on the stage of our foundation, the aim of ‘Rising Rajasthan’ is to showcase Rajasthan. Our state has many unique artists including Vishwamohan Bhatt, Ricky Cage, Ila Arun, Bhanu Bharti, Hussain Bandhu, Anwar Khan, Ali Ghani and many more. However, it is a matter of joy that Ravindra Upadhyay’s presentation has been included in Jai Mahal Palace.

When we showcase India’s brands abroad on India pavilions, we do not give this platform to international stars like Bryan Adams, Dua Lipa, or Rihanna to perform or promote to attract investments in India. Instead, we should have ensured in our state that prominent artists of Rajasthan get a chance on this platform, so that the real cultural heritage of the state can be presented in the right way.
Bhutodia further said that recently, I was at the closing ceremony of the Goa Film Festival, where folk artistes from Rajasthan were honored and given a place on the main stage – a commendable example of how regional talent can be highlighted. And this proves how popular the folk music of Rajasthan is. Let us ensure that Rising Rajasthan truly reaches heights by showcasing the rich and diverse artistic heritage of our state.
Bhutodio has written on X about giving a platform to Rajasthani artists.
