Laila Khan was reportedly married to Munir Khan, who has ties to a banned group in Bangladesh. In early 2011, she, her mother, and several family members traveled from Mumbai to their holiday home in Igatpuri, Maharashtra.Shortly after their arrival, they all went missing, which raised suspicions and led to a search for answers. Laila’s father filed a missing persons report, prompting an investigation that eventually pointed to her stepfather as a key suspect.
Laila’s father, Nadir Shah Patel, reported her and her family missing and asked the Bombay High Court for help. A Bollywood director who worked with Laila also reported her disappearance. Eventually, the Mumbai Crime Branch received confessions from Parvez Tak and Asif Sheikh regarding their involvement in the murders. In a grim discovery, six bodies were found buried near Laila’s bungalow in Igatpuri, which are believed to be the remains of Laila and her family.
