As Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule crossed the US $ 15 million mark and turned profitable for the distributors, all eyes are now moving towards Ram Charan and Shankar’s upcoming film Game Changer. The makers released the trailer of the film on Thursday, and it has received a very positive response from the audience. The film is slated to release on 10th January and also features Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah.
With only 7 days to go for the release of the film, the advance booking for it is yet to be opened in India. But in North America the ticket sale has seen a major jump in North America (USA and Canada market). Post the release of the trailer, the collection has shown a massive jump of over US $45000 thus taking the overall collection of the film to US $422,000. In comparison to other Telugu films like Kalki 2898 AD or Pushpa 2- The Rule and Devara, the numbers for Game Changer are low, but trade is expecting a massive movement in the days leading up to the release. The film will also be releasing in IMAX format on 10th of January, the official confirmation was shared by the head of IMAX Preetham Daniel on social media today.
Game Changer is Shankar’s first release since the debacle of Indian 2, its sequel to 1997 superhit film Indian with Kamal Haasan. The film did decent numbers, but didn’t match up with the kind of money put into it. Based on its performance, it is being rumored that Indian 3 would be a direct to OTT release though Shankar is confident that with the success of Game Changer, things will turn around and he will be able to release Indian 3 in the theaters.
