Mohammed Shami Return Update: Nothing can be said clearly yet about when Mohammed Shami will be fit and when he will be able to return. BCCI has definitely made it clear that Shami will not play at least in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Meanwhile, such an update has also come out, which seems as if Shami has not been able to return to Team India due to his own mistake. Let us tell you that Shami has not played any match for India at the international level since the 2023 World Cup.
Shami hit the ax on his own leg?
Mohammed Shami returned to the Bengal team in the fifth round match of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. In his comeback match, apart from taking 7 wickets in bowling, Shami also contributed 39 runs with the bat. In this match, he bowled a total of 43 overs in both the innings. Recently BCCI has issued a statement regarding Shami’s fitness report, in which it has been mentioned that due to workload, there has been expected swelling in Shami’s left knee.
The statement issued by BCCI said, “Mohammed Shami bowled 43 overs for Bengal in the Ranji match against Madhya Pradesh. After that he played all 9 matches for Bengal in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Apart from this, he also bowled 43 overs for Bengal in the practice sessions. He practiced a lot of bowling so that he could prepare himself for the test matches. Meanwhile, due to the excessive pressure on his joints, his knees got swollen as expected. There has been swelling, which is due to taking heavy workload of bowling after a very long break.”
