Donald Trump Threatens Russia: The Kremlin has rejected US President Donald Trump’s recent comments on the Ukraine conflict. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday that there was “nothing new” in Trump’s threats.
Commenting on Trump’s warning, Peskov said that if Russia does not stop aggressive operations in Ukraine, additional sanctions will be imposed. He said, “We do not see anything new in his statements.” Peskov stressed that Russia is ready for equal and mutually respectful dialogue with the United States. He also said that Moscow is “closely watching” the Trump administration’s statements.
Trump’s strict stance and warning
In a post on X, Trump put pressure on Russia and President Vladimir Putin for peace talks. He said that Russia’s economy is failing, and that President Putin should negotiate to end the war. Trump warned that if a deal is not reached soon, higher tariffs and sanctions could be imposed on Russian goods. He also said, “This war would not have started during my presidency. No more lives must be lost. The time for compromise has come.”
Trump’s views on Russia and Ukraine
Trump appealed to both Russia and Ukraine for peace talks. He said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky supports the peace agreement. He stressed that prolonging the war could have disastrous consequences for Russia. Trump commented, “If the war doesn’t stop, Russia could be in big trouble.”
Russia–Ukraine conflict
Let us tell you that amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict, violence continues on the ground. On Thursday, the city of Zaporizhia was targeted in a Russian drone and missile attack. One person died and 25 people were injured in the attacks. Ukraine’s emergency service shared pictures of the devastation caused by the attacks.
The Kremlin has not given any significant reaction to Donald Trump’s tough stance and call for peace talks. At the same time, the situation in Ukraine is worsening due to increasing attacks on the ground. Trump has clearly said in his remarks that if the war does not end soon, the economic pressure on Russia will be further increased.
