Vladimir Putin Talks With Donald Trump: Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with newly elected US President Donald Trump on Thursday (December 19). During this he talked about a compromise on the Ukraine war. He stressed that there are no preconditions for discussions but any deal must include legitimate Ukrainian authorities.

What did Putin say on the temporary ceasefire?
Putin rejected claims that Russia was in a weak position. He said that after the attack on Ukraine in 2022, the country has become stronger. While Putin said Russia is ready to negotiate, he stressed that Kiev must also be ready to compromise. Putin rejected any possibility of a temporary ceasefire in favor of a permanent peace agreement.
‘Army should have been sent before 2022’
Despite saying he was willing to negotiate with Trump on Ukraine, Putin said he should have sent troops to Ukraine before 2022 when asked if he would have done anything differently. He also said that Russia should have been better prepared for the conflict. Asked by a BBC correspondent whether he would take care of Russia, something that former Russian President Boris Yeltsin had asked him to do before handing over the presidency in late 1999.
