Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has confirmed that 10 suspects from Saudi Arabia have been deported, who went to Saudi Arabia on Umrah Visa, but were engaged in begging there. According to the Express Tribune report, Saudi Arabia had raised the issue several times in 2023 to Pakistan and demanded action.
Strict action against begging
In November 2023, Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured Saudi Arabia that nationwide effective action would be taken against the Pakistanis who misused Umrah and Haj visas to beg. Under this, the suspects going to beg during a major operation at Karachi Airport were caught.

The FIA ​​said that the arrested suspects went to Saudi Arabia on the pretext of Umrah for several months. All of them have been transferred to Karachi Anti Human Trafficking Cell, where further action will be taken against them.

The FIA ​​also said that immigration activities are being closely monitored. Passengers going abroad are being thoroughly investigated so that legal action can be taken against those who begged.
