The accused went to the Supreme Court against this decision of the lower court, but the Supreme Court also upheld this decision. After this, all of them were hanged on royal orders.
Saudi government is very strict in the matter of drugs

Drugs are a big problem facing the country and we will save our people from the menace of drugs. We will also not spare drug smugglers. Smugglers and dealers will be given the harshest punishment as per the law.”
More than 100 people were hanged in one year
It is noteworthy that there is a provision of death penalty for drug smuggling in Saudi Arabia. Let us tell you that in the last one year i.e. in the year 2024, more than 100 foreign citizens have been hanged in Saudi Arabia. This is the first time in the history of Saudi Arabia that more than 100 people have been given death sentence in a year.
