On the first day of the week, today i.e. Monday (February 24), the Sensex is trading at 74,700 points with a decline of 600 points. The Nifty also has a decline of 200 points, it is trading at the level of 22,600.
Of the 30 shares of the Sensex, 29 declines and only one. Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 48 declines and only two are rose. The NSE Sectoral Index has a decline in all. The highest realty sector has a decline of 1.17% and PSU i.e. 1.01% in shares of public sector.
Global market declines
- Asian markets have a rise of 0.26% in Nikkei, Japan and a decline of 0.62% in Korea in Korea. Hong Kong’s Hangseng falls 0.54% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index falls by 0.11%.
- On 21 February, Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 3,449.15 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,884.61 crore.
- On February 19, the US Dow Jones closed down 1.69%to close at 43,428. The S&P 500 index fell 1.71% to close at 6,013. Nasdaq fell 2.20% to close at 19,524.
Stock market declined last week
On the last trading day of the week i.e. February 21, the Sensex fell 424 points to close at 75,311. The Nifty also fell by 117 points, it closed at 22,795 levels.
Out of 30 Sensex’s 30 shares, 22 declined and 8 declined. Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 37 declined and 13 declined. The auto sector of the NSE Sectoral Index declined by 2.58%.
