Cricketers who got accused of Rape: West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph is currently in discussion. Shamar has been accused of rape, after which there has been a stir in the cricket world. According to the reports, Shamar has been accused of rape by not one, not two, not two. This is not the first time a cricketer has been accused of rape. Even before this, many veteran cricketers have been accused of rape, some of which have also gone to jail.
These players have been accused of rape
Sandeep Lamichhane- Nepal’s spin bowler Sandeep Lamichne was accused of raping a minor girl in the year 2022. After which he was sentenced to 8 years in jail. Later he proved to be innocent again and was acquitted.
Yash Dayal- Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the IPL has recently accused fast bowler Yash Dayal by a girl of rape. The victim has filed a complaint against Yash. The police has also started investigation on this matter.
Danushka Gunatilaka- Sri Lankan batsman Danushka Gunatilaka was arrested in Sydney in 2022 on charges of rape. A woman had filed a complaint against him. This case is still going on.
Ruble Hussain- Bagladesh’s fast bowler Rubel Hussain was accused by his girlfriend of making a false promise and rape, for which Rubel also had to go to jail.
Shoaib Akhtar- Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was accused of rape on the tour of Australia in 2005. However, Akhtar had blamed these allegations.
Makhaya Entini- South African fast bowler Makhaya Antini was accused of rape in 1999. For which he was sentenced to 6 years. He was also dropped from the World Cup team.
