Girls protesting in front of the District Collectorate
Angered by the shortage of teachers for a long time in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School located in Gaudiji of the city, the students reached the District Collectorate on Thursday. The girl students demonstrated in the school demanding immediate appointment of teachers on 9 vacant posts and submitted a memorandum to the collector.

The girl students said- The government upgraded the school to a senior school in 2020. Upgraded as Senior Secondary School in 2022. During this period, 5 other teachers were appointed, which included 3 lecturers and 2 second grade teachers. But till date not a single teacher has joined. At present, about 9 teacher posts are lying vacant in the school. Due to which the students are not able to complete the syllabus of all the subjects.

Angered by this, the girl students of the school reached the District Collectorate in the form of a rally from the school on Thursday morning and protested in front of the District Collectorate demanding immediate appointment of teachers on the vacant posts and not removing the currently working senior teachers. Slogans were raised against the government. After this a memorandum was submitted to the District Collector. In this matter, administrative officials and Secondary Chief District Education Officer Ganga Kalawant assured to appoint teachers soon. After this all the girl students returned to their school.
