
Pakistan Earthquake: The 5.3 magnitude earthquake was felt in Pakistan on Sunday (29 June 2025). According to the German Research Center for Geochens (GFZ), the center of earthquake was at a depth of 10 km inside the ground.
Reuters quoted the Euro-Bhumadhyagya Earthquake Science Center as saying that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 149 km west of the city of Multan. The earthquake felt around 3.54 am (IST). The shocks were so fast that people came out of their homes. However, no immediate report of any injuries or damage was found from the earthquake.
Earthquakes often occur in Pakistan as it is located on the border of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The Indian plate is entering the Eurasian plate at a speed of about 5 cm every year in the north direction.
