Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav said on Tuesday that Abuja spinner Varun Chakraborty has seen a separate player since his return to international cricket as he has become mentally strong and plays with a smile on his face. Chakraborty took five wickets for 42 runs against New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday. India won the match by 44 runs. Suryakumar said on the sidelines of a program here, “The way he was out of the team in 2021 and then the way he returned, he has a glimpse of two different Varun Chakraborty.”
Surya Kumar Yadav said, ‘He has become mentally strong. There is a smile on his face and whatever the situation on the field takes him easily. It is a very good thing from a cricketer’s perspective. Chakraborty was not part of the last 11 in the first two matches of the Champions Trophy but his selection against New Zealand proved to be Mastrstroke. Suryakumar said, ‘I am really happy for him. Whatever he is doing and whatever is happening to him is entitled to everything. ‘
This aggressive batsman said, ‘He has been a really hard work player since 2021. I have spoken to him many times since his return to international cricket. Suryakumar said that Mumbai Indians will not have to face any dilemma in the IPL, as all are the current Indian captain in his team. He said, ‘When we go there, it is like a family, so we do not think about whether we have three captains or we have four captains. We think we are a team.
