

Odisha assemble: A Congress leader on Wednesday alleged that the suspended MLAs of the party sitting on a dharna near the seat of the assembly for action against him were forcibly expelled from the assembly and left near the Congress Bhavan.
He said that the legislators were forcibly thrown out of the assembly on Tuesday night and had to spend the night on the road in the master canteen.
One of the two MLAs not suspended by the Congress, MLA Taraprasad Bahiniyapati alleged, “We were abused and we were forcibly evacuated from the assembly at midnight. It is completely illegal and undemocratic.”
Bhakt Charan Das, president of the Odisha unit of the Congress, and AICC in -charge of Odisha Ajay Kumar Lallu are sitting on a dharna in the master canteen area on Wednesday to protest against the suspension of 12 party MLAs.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ramchandra Kadam alleged that food, water and even toilets were not provided to party MLAs in the assembly. Kadam was injured in the assembly on Tuesday night when a security personnel came in the middle of the door while closing the door. He suffered an injury to his finger.
Congress MLAs were suspended from the House for seven days on Tuesday on charges of ‘indiscipline’. After the BJP came to power in June last year, he was demanding the formation of the House Committee to investigate crimes against women in the state.
After the suspension of 12 Congress MLAs, there was a conflict situation outside the assembly on Tuesday night, as the police stopped senior Congress leaders from entering the assembly premises. The police later took the leaders to a safe place and left them.
Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena said that Congress leaders and activists were taken into custody as a precautionary custody and released at the Reserve Ground.
Congress’s Odisha in -charge Ajay Kumar Lallu said, “The Congress party is fighting from the road to the House to investigate the exploitation and atrocities of women in Odisha. Our 12 MLAs were thrown out of the House and now that the state president Bhakta Charan Das ji and former state president Jayadev Jaina ji were going to meet the MLAs sitting on dharna in the assembly, then why did the police not be afraid of the investigation? Wants? “
Suspended Congress MLA Sophia Firdaus said on Wednesday, “Make it clear – suspension and threats cannot stop us. We will continue our fight inside and outside the assembly until every woman in Odisha feels safe and does not get justice.”
