
Syria bomb blast news: A terrible suicide attack took place on Sunday (June 22, 2025) at a Greek Orthodox Church near Syrian capital Damascus, when people were engaged in prayer. The attacker fired in the first church and then blown himself out of the blast, killing at least 22 people and injured 63 people. This information has been given by Syrian Government News Agency (SANA) to the Ministry of Health.
The UK -based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has also confirmed the attack. After the suicide attack, the government has started a siege of the area and started investigation. However, no terrorist organization has taken responsibility for this attack yet.
The attacker was associated with ISIS
The Syrian Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that a fierce suicide attack on St. Elias Church, located in Douweela area of Damascus, was carried out by an attacker associated with the terrorist organization ISIS. The ministry said that the attackers first entered the church, fired indiscriminately on the crowd present there and then blown themselves with explosive jackets.
Syrian information minister gave this big information
Syrian Information Minister Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa strongly condemned this terror attack and said, “We strongly condemn this terrorist attack on the church in Duwaila and express deep condolences to the families of the deceased. This cowardice act is an attack on our unity and brotherhood values.”
He also said that Syrian society believes in brotherhood and peace between all religions and communities. The government will continue to take strict and constant action against such terrorist organizations so that the security of the citizens remains.
