Team India Practice Session: The Boxing Day Test between India and Australia is starting in Melbourne from 26th December. Before that, Team India is sweating profusely in the nets. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s batting practice made headlines as he dedicated an entire hour to batting practice and faced different bowlers during this time. Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen talking to senior players and taking tips at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG Ground).
Talking about Virat Kohli, he practiced a lot against Mohammad Siraj and Akashdeep. Both of them tested Kohli by bowling with the new ball. The former Indian captain faced not only fast bowlers but also throwdown specialists. Even on the first day, Kohli was seen middleing the ball and this time too he made the same effort. Let us tell you that once again the balls outside the off stump are troubling Kohli. In the Gabba Test, he was caught in the slips on a ball very outside.
Senior players helped Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal was first seen talking to KL Rahul, who made his Test debut at the same ground in Melbourne in 2014. Jaiswal had played an inning of 161 runs in the Perth Test, but after that he could score only 32 runs in four innings. Apart from KL Rahul, he was also seen taking tips from Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir. Kohli has experience of 6 innings in Melbourne, in which he has scored 316 runs.
During the practice session, captain Rohit Sharma was hit by a ball in his knee, after which he was seen warming it with an ice pack. He also advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to improve his technique in his free time. Let us tell you that in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, India and Australia are currently tied with each other.
