Tejas Fighter Jet US GE 414 Engine: America was not successful in selling its F-16 fighter jet to India. After this, India had signed a deal with American company GE for GE-414 engine for indigenous Tejas fighter jet. For several months this company has been postponing the supply of engines for Tejas fighter jet. The company is claiming that it is facing difficulty in obtaining spare parts.
Because of this, the planning regarding fighter jets is also going bad. All this is happening when Pakistan and China are making fifth generation fighter jets. In this series, GE has also made another big demand from India. GE has said that India will get 50 million dollars for this deal. Will have to pay more.
A team from India is going to America
Following this demand raised by GE, a team of Hindustan Aeronautics from India is going to America. During this time, this team will discuss with the officials of the American company on the Indian team GE-414 engine. India wants this deal to be finalized before the end of the financial year. India wants to make a deal with GE for 99 GE-414 engines. The number of engines in it can also increase, if India selects this engine for India’s fifth generation fighter jet. According to the IDRW report, the American company is now demanding $50 million more.
India’s problems may increase
Regarding this matter, Indian officials say that the technology that GE company is going to share with India will help the country a lot. If we talk about the level of year 2023, then this entire agreement can be up to 1 billion dollars. HAL has now asked for several documents from GE to review its proposal. This GE engine will be used in LCA Tejas Mark 1A and Mark 2.
He further said, “Due to the delay in GE engines, India’s LCA Mark 2, which will be of 4.5 generation, may lag behind. This aircraft will replace Mirage 2000, Jaguar and MiG 29 fighter jets.”
