In April last year, the maximum of Rs 2.10 lakh crore was GST collection.
The government has raised Rs 1.84 lakh crore from Goods and Services Tax (GST) in February 2025. It has increased by 9.1% on an annual basis. According to the data released on Saturday 1 February, in February 2024, the government collected Rs 1.68 lakh crore GST in February 2024. At the same time, 18.24 lakh crore rupees have come from GST so far in this financial year i.e. 2024-25.
A month ago, in January, the government raised Rs 1.96 lakh crore from GST, which was 12.3% more than January last year. At the same time, February was the 12th consecutive month, when the monthly collection was more than Rs 1.7 lakh crore. The GST collection stood at Rs 10.87 lakh crore in the first six months of the year, which was 9.5% more than the first half of FY 24.

The highest ₹ 2.10 lakh crore was collected in April 2024 In terms of gross tax collection, the third largest collection of November was in November. Earlier in April 2024, the maximum of 2.10 lakh crore rupees were recovered as GST. At the same time, the GST government had recovered Rs 1.87-1.87 lakh crore in April-2023 and October-2024.


Economy’s health shows GST collection The GST collection is an indicator of the economy’s overall health. On the GST collection data of April, KPMG’s National Head Abhishek Jain said that the highest GST collection so far reflects a strong domestic economy.
GST was implemented in 2017 The government implemented GST across the country on 1 July 2017. After this, 17 taxes and 13 centers of the central and state governments were removed. On the completion of 7 years of GST, the Finance Ministry posted with the achievements achieved during the last seven years.
GST is an indirect tax. It was implemented in 2017 to replace the Variety of Previous Indirect Tax (VAT), service tax, purchase tax, excise duty and many indirect taxes. The GST has four slabs of 5, 12, 18 and 28%.
