On Tuesday, March 26, the US Commission (USCIRF) has expressed concern over the status of minorities in India, giving knowledge on international religious freedom. The Commission said that there is discrimination and bad behavior between minority communities, especially Muslim and Christian communities in India.
Not only this, the US Commission has also recommended a ban against India’s spy agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing). The Commission said that RAW is accused of killing Sikh separatists, although this allegation is said to be baseless.
America has tried to interfere in India’s internal politics and security related matters, which can be controversial for the Indian government. This step of America is being questioned, because the history of America itself is also filled with violation of the rights of migrants and minorities. The US has faced several criticisms known to deal with migrants in a cruel way under its strict migration policy.
Therefore, serious questions are also being raised on the US records advising India on religious freedom and the rights of minorities.
