
Champions trophy: Lokesh Rahul is successfully happy after batting at number six and he called it the result of his tireless ‘preparation’ and continuous improvement in his game. Usually, Rahul, who batted at number five, was slipped down one place in the Champions Trophy and scored 140 runs in four innings here.
After India’s title victory in the Champions Trophy on Sunday, Rahul said, “This is really pleasant for me. The work I am doing in different roles require a lot of preparation. Working out of the cricket field, thinking how I to take each match and how to perform under different circumstances, to see some players batting at the fifth and sixth number and see how they have been successful.
Rahul said that he is happy with this new responsibility for the team. He said, “My coach has taught me from a very young age that cricket is a team game and the team needs to accept whatever you want from you and to perform for the team. You should be able to understand what your role is, what is the responsibility, understand what to do to bat successfully on different order. ”
Rahul adapted himself to the semi -finals against Australia and the final against New Zealand and played small but important innings. The Bengaluru player scored an unbeaten 42 against Australia while India successfully pursued a tough target against New Zealand thanks to his unbeaten 32 -run innings.
Overall, Rahul scored just 140 runs but he scored at a strike rate of 98 which shows how much impact the runs had on the match. Captain Rohit Sharma also indicated the same. Rohit said, “He did not get pressure on him due to his patience, we wanted the same kind of patience on the field.” I am very happy with his performance in the tournament. Batted in the semi -finals and also in this match in a position of pressure. ”
The Indian captain said, “Even though the contribution is not of 70-80 runs, he was very important 30-40 runs.” Rahul is very happy to win the Champions Trophy. He said, “I am very happy at this time, winning the ICC tournament is not so easy. This is my first title (ICC), so I am very happy and the way we have played in this entire tournament, I am very happy with it and it has been completely the team’s attempt.
