American company General Dynamics Land Systems gave a demo of striker ICV in high altitude areas of Ladakh, which took place in September-October 2024. The demo took place at an altitude of 13,000 to 18,000 feet and is considered an important step for the Indian Army.
Striker ICV: Why is special?
Striker ICV has different types of variants, which make it multi-tasking weapons. This includes Infantry Career, Mobile Gun System, Medical Evacation, Fire Support, Anti-Tank Guided Missile Career and Reconnence Vehicle.
The striker comes with an 8 wheel drive.
This includes 30 mm gun and 105 mm mobile guns. Its range is 483 km and it can move at a speed of 100 km per hour. It is capable of providing protection from enemy aerial attack, landmine, and IED. The most important thing is that it can also be easily transported to altitude areas through Chinook helicopters.
