The organization formed in 1978 demanded that they should be separated from the Turkas to Kurdistan, or the Kurds should be given more rights inside the Turkas than before. With this demand, the organization waged a war against the Turki government in 1984.
So far more than 40 thousand people have been killed in this war. Due to this, Turkas, America and European Union have declared this organization as terrorists.
Abdullah Oklan, the leader of the organization, was caught by the Special Force of Türkiye in Kenya in 1999. Since then he has been imprisoned in a jail in Istanbul, where he is serving a life sentence.

In October last year, PKK attacked the Turkish Aerospace Industry in Ankara, the capital of the Turki. Five people died in this, while 22 were injured.
Oklan said- no longer needs this organization
Abdullah Oklan asked the organization to do two important work, which can end the struggle with the Turks for the past several years. These are to put your weapon and dissolve the organization. On behalf of Oklan, his statement was read by the leaders of the Pro-Kurdish Party DEM.
In this statement, Oklan said,

PKK was formed in response to the Turki government, in response to the rights of Kurds. But since then the rights of Kurds have increased. Also, this organization has completed its age. Now it is necessary to be abolished.
Party’s headquarters are in Iraq
The Kurdistan Workers Party is Marxist-Leninist Kurdish separatist group. It was established in 1978. Its purpose is to establish Azad Kurdistan. The group is to carry forward Kurdish rights by occupying Kurdish dominated areas of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Türkiye.
PKK’s headquarters have long been in Iraq. From 2013 to 2015, a ceasefire between PKK and Turkas government remained. The Turk’s security forces then almost stopped the terrorist operation of PKK in Southeast Turkey, after which the organization mainly started carrying out operations in Iraq and Syria.
Kurdish people reside in the hilly areas of Turkas
People of the Kurdish community live in Iraq, Syria, Iran and Armenia with Turki hilly areas and border areas. Their population in the Turkas is around 1.5 crores. It is the largest among the minority communities present in the Turkas. Kurdish are fighting for their autonomy in Turkas. Kurdish are also struggling for their identity in Syria and Iraq.
The talks between the Turki government and this organization have failed a decade ago. Since then, this group has carried out many terrorist attacks in Turkas. Here the Turki army has performed military operations near the southeastern region of the country and near the border of Syria and Iraq.

In 2014, the US and the Turki jointly launched the Kurdish bases in the Syrian city of Kobana.
