
Turki President Rajab Tayyab Erdogan and Pakistan again recited the melody of Kashmir on Thursday (February 13, 2025). Erdogan says that Turkas support Pakistan’s efforts to resolve the issue of Kashmir. He said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved through dialogue between India and Pakistan, in which the aspirations of Kashmiri people should be considered properly.
President Erdogan arrived in Pakistan on a two -day visit amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit. President Erdogan made this comment after a face-to-face talk and delegation level talks with Pak PM Shahbaz Sharif. A memorandum was signed between the two sides, including 24 agreements. After this, Erdogan spoke on the Kashmir issue in the statement given to the media. Erdogan said that he supports Pakistan’s efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue. He said that the solution to the Kashmir issue can come out of such negotiation, which is in line with the decisions of the United Nations and the ambition of the people of Kashmir.
Erdogan said, ‘Our nation is still standing with solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers like the past. India has repeatedly emphasized that the union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were integral parts of the country, and ‘always will be’. The relations between the two countries have come to an end after India on August 5, 2019, after canceling Article 370 of the Constitution, ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and dividing the state into two union territories.
President Erdogan also showed a keen interest in promoting relations with Pakistan. He said, ‘In the seventh session of our council, which we have just finished, we have agreed to further strengthen our relationship. During this visit, we have signed a total of 24 agreements and consent letters in business, water resources, agriculture, energy, culture, family and social services as well as science, banking, education, defense and health sectors.
On the other hand, Shahbaz Sharif said that the Turkias have always supported Pakistan’s side in the case of Kashmir. He said that Erdogan is a very important and respected leader of Islamic society. He has always raised his voice for the rights of the people of Gaza, Palestine and Kashmir. Pakistan PM said that if Erdogan speaks, not only the people of the Islamic world, but the whole world listens to their words carefully. He said that Pakistan will also always support the Turki’s stand on Cyprus.
There is a five -decade -old dispute between the Turki and Cyprus. In 1974, Turki attacked Cyprus and captured one third of the island. After this, there was a division between the Greek and the Turki. Since then there has been tension between Greek and Turki communities. Cyprus is recognized internationally, but the Turks and countries supporting it do not believe so.
On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is the second home of Erdogan and it is amazing to come back here after five years. He thanked the Turks for standing with Pakistan during earthquake and floods. Shahbaz said, ‘Today your visit to Pakistan has given a new height to our brotherhood relations.’
Prime Minister and President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed Erdogan at Noor Khan Airport in the morning. The President of Turki was accompanied by the first female amin Erdogan and a delegation of investors and people from the business world. Erdogan and Shahbaz also planted a plant at the Prime Minister’s residence. Army Chief General Asim Munir also met Erdogan.
