U19 Womens T20 World Cup: Pakistan and Nepal won the fourth place playoff matches in the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup here on Friday. Pakistan defeated Samoa by 52 runs on the basis of four wickets of young fast bowler Hania Ahmar. On the other hand, Nepal defeated Malaysia by seven wickets in a low -score match.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 136 runs for eight wickets in the prescribed 20 overs and then after that Samoa was dismissed for 84 runs in 18.5 overs. For Pakistan, Hania took four wickets for 20 runs.
In another match, Nepal piled Malaysia for only 45 runs and then scored an easy win by scoring 47 runs for three wickets in 11 overs. Captain Pooja Mahato took four and Rachna Chaudhary took three wickets. Super Six matches will be played from Saturday. On the first day, the US will face New Zealand, England from Nigeria, South Africa’s Ireland and Australia will face West Indies.
India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Scotland and West Indies are placed in Group one, while Group two includes South Africa, England, America, Nigeria, Ireland and New Zealand. Two teams living on top from each group will reach the semi -finals.
