
Uae declines to host psl: Due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to shift the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) to Dubai. But now UAE has given a big blow to Pakistan. The UAE has denied hosting the Pakistan Super League. Now the remaining PSL matches will not be played in Dubai.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to shift the league to Dubai after an emergency meeting on 8 May 2025. The meeting was also attended by franchise owners and representatives of law enforcement agencies. PCB decided to shift the PSL after the Indian drone attacks on several Pakistani cities including the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. There is an atmosphere of fear in Paristan after India’s retaliation. But now the question is arising whether PCB had taken such a big decision without talking to UAE?
Players wanted to leave Pakistan
Earlier, PCB had decided to shift the remaining matches to Karachi, but foreign players did not feel safe in Pakistan due to India’s retaliation. Due to which PCB, PSL wanted to hold the remaining 8 matches in Dubai. This includes matches in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore. Apart from this, cricketers from foreign players, especially England, Australia and New Zealand have expressed concern about security. PCB is also scared because some players are planning to leave the country.
Here BCCI has also decided to suspend IPL 2025. Keeping in mind the safety of foreign players, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken this big decision. The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals played at Dharamshala were also postponed on Wednesday amid failed attempts to attack from Pakistan. The BCCI called an emergency meeting on Friday. Such reports have come to light that sending foreign players home due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan was the first priority for BCCI and that is why IPL 2025 has been suspended.
