West Bengal News: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) West Bengal unit president Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday alleged that unruly settlements of Rohingyas are being established in the state due to the patronage of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, told a news channel, “With the help of TMC leaders, Rohingyas have come to Salt Lake, parts of North Kolkata and Machli Bheris (small ponds made for fish farming) among other places. Have settled in.”
He also said that if someone photographs a Rohingya settlement, they attack him. Majumdar alleged that the Trinamool Congress government was helping the Rohingyas to settle in the state. He said that it is the duty of the Border Security Force (BSF) to protect the country’s borders. Majumdar said, “BSF personnel will make every possible effort to protect the border.”
