The woman’s husband Khanu immediately informed the officials, after which the Indian administrative officials at the border took quick action and admitted her to the government hospital in the Attari. After a few hours of treatment, the woman gave birth to a healthy girl.
Due to the birth of the girl on the land of India, the parents decided to name her ‘Bharti’. After delivery, the doctors discharged both the mother and the girl from the hospital, calling them both healthy.

The girl’s father Khanu said that he has come to India from Sindh province of Pakistan, including his family, where the situation is getting worse day by day. He said, “We were troubled by the lack of employment and security in Pakistan. The situation for Hindus there is very bad. There was always fear about religious harassment and safety of daughters, so we decided to come to India.”
He says that he is now in the hope of permanent settling in India and gaining Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
New life expected on the border
This incident has given a new meaning to the new beginning of these migrant Hindu families in India. While he was worried about his existence and future security, ‘Bharti’, born on India’s land, has come as a new ray of hope for him.
Khanu told that he already has two sons and 7 daughters. Now he has given birth to another daughter on India’s land. Hopefully, this girl will change their future.
