
Us crime news: A 64 -year -old Florida, James Dennis Ford, was hanged on Thursday after being convicted of killing a couple in 1997. This was the first hanging in the state this year. According to The Independent, Ford was declared dead at 6:19 pm in Florida State Jail through deadly injection.
The case is from when 25 -year -old Gregory Malanori and 26 -year -old his wife Kimberly went on a fishing trip with his 23 -month -old daughter. At that time James Dennis Ford targeted him. Ford first shot in the head of Gregory Mellanori with a .22-caliber rifle, then beaten and cut her throat. He then raped Kimberly Malanori and then shot him.
Parents’ sorrow of losing
In this terrible incident, the couple’s daughter Maranda Malanori survived, which was found almost a day later by a nearby farm worker and covered with insects. Maranda is now an adult and said that she remembers very little about the murders, but she still hurts to lose her parents.
Ford’s hanging and final meal
Ford’s lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court, but it was rejected. His lawyers argued that Ford’s mental state was weak at the time of murder, his mental age was 14 years old, and he was black out due to diabetes. However, the court rejected the appeal.
On hanging, Ford woke up at 3:30 am and met his family and enjoyed stake, macaroni, fried ladyfing, sweet potato, pumpkin pie and sweet tea in the final meal. At the time of hanging, Ford did not say anything to the witnesses.
Fourth hanging in the United States
Ford’s hanging was first in Florida and fourth in the United States this year. On the same day, Richard Lee Tabler was also hanged in Texas, convicted for killing four people in Killen city in 2004.
