The blue ghost lander of the American company Firefly Aerospace has been successfully landed on the surface of the moon on Sunday. With this, it has become the second commercial vehicle to reach the moon.
This landing took place in the moon’s Crecium Region. Blue Ghost was sent to space on 15 January 2025 from Ilon Musk’s company SpaceX’s rocket Falcon 9.
The purpose of this mission is to examine the huge crater C of Crisis that appears on the moon from the earth.
Blue Ghost started sending photos shortly after landing. The firefly company shared these pictures on its social media on the handle.
The company said in the social media post- This small step on the moon represents a big leap towards commercial discovery.

Blue Ghost named after the species of firefly
Blue Ghost is named after a rare species of firefly in the US. According to the company, this four -legged small lander is 6 feet 6 inch (2 meters) long and 11 feet (3.5 meters) wide.
The US space agency NASA is also associates in this mission. Another company interested machines are also hopeful that its Ethana Space vehicle will land on the southern pole of the moon in the next few days.
Blue Ghost is a rare species of firefly found in northern Carolina, USA. It only appears in the late May to the beginning of June.
The blue ghost mission is 14 days
Integrator was the first private company to land on the moon. Its spacecraft Odisius reached the moon on 22 February last year. However, this spacecraft landed on the slope of a pit, which broke its landing gear and turned it back.
Blue Ghost revolved around the moon for two weeks before landing and then easily landed.
The Blue Ghost Mission is equivalent to a day on about 14 days i.e. the moon. If this mission is completely successful, it will help in increasing human access to the moon.
Man last placed on the moon in 1972
