Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday called for crowd management at Vidhan Bhavan, saying the complex should not be turned into a ‘market’.
The Chief Minister said in the Assembly that if there is a crowd in the Vidhan Bhavan, how will the House function properly.
“What I am going to say may hurt some MLAs, but we need to take steps to control the crowd in the Vidhan Bhavan complex,” he said. I don’t want to use this word, however, I can’t think of a better option to describe the situation. This complex should not become a ‘market’.
Expressing surprise, the Chief Minister said, “If there is so much crowd in the Vidhan Bhavan, how will this House function properly?”
He said that many elected public representatives go with their supporters to different chambers inside the Vidhan Bhavan for work, but sometimes too many people gather in these chambers and no one else is able to go inside. Fadnavis also expressed disappointment over the lack of political dialogue in the House.
He said, “Dialogue is missing in the Assembly. I am not saying that it has stopped, but it has definitely reduced. We all need to work on this.
