Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma County Cricket: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma seem to be continuously flopping in Test cricket. Both the legends appeared flop in all five tests of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Virat scored a century, while Rohit Sharma’s high score in the series was only 10 runs. Now amid this poor form, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were advised to play county cricket. But Rohit-Virat will have to sacrifice IPL along with the county.
Kohli and Rohit were given county advice by former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar. Speaking on Star Sports, Manjrekar said, “Kohli, with all the work he has done, his impact and his strength, whenever he comes in, he gives his best. He is losing all his confidence. He is losing confidence in himself. Are giving themselves the best chance with their fitness and application, but obviously there is a technical problem and now there is a problem of confidence.
Sanjay Manjrekar further said, “The next series in England will not be easy for Virat Kohli, it will be the same. There will be balls swinging outside the off stump. But if both Rohit and Virat intend to continue and the selectors are willing to back them. I would like to see both of them play county cricket and explain to those who will take the big decision whether they are ready to retire, while it is up to the selectors to drop people.”
Will not play in IPL 2025?
It will not be possible for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play county cricket keeping the IPL in mind. County cricket will start from April 07, 2025. Whereas, IPL will be played from March 14 to May 25.
