There was a sharp noise in the ruling party and the opposition regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill. Where all the leaders of the opposition were seen describing the bill against the constitution. So the leaders of the ruling party responded to all the allegations of the opposition.
Government gets Nitish-Chandrababu support
After the passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha, it is now the turn of Rajya Sabha. Today (April 3), the Waqf Amendment Bill will be introduced in the Upper House. The Lok Sabha saw the entire NDA united in support of this bill. The Modi government also joined Nitish Kumar’s JDU and Chandrababu Naidu. Due to this, 288 votes were cast in support of the bill and it was easily passed.
After Lok Sabha, now the turn of Rajya Sabha
At the same time, if we talk about the Rajya Sabha, then the road here is not as difficult, but you may have to face the challenge. Talking about Rajya Sabha number game, the number of sitting members of Rajya Sabha is 236. 9 seats are currently vacant. In this way the majority figure is 119. BJP has a total of 98 members in the Rajya Sabha. At the same time, the total number of NDA members reaches 115. If the nominated 6 members are added, it will reach the number 121. The Rajya Sabha has 27 members of the Congress and a total of 85 members in the INDI alliance. The government has a majority to pass the bill in the Rajya Sabha too, but if cross voting takes place then the difficulties may increase.
Opposition clashed with government in Lok Sabha
Earlier, during the discussion on the bill in the Lok Sabha on the previous day, there was a lot of excitement. Home Minister Amit Shah clarified that non -Muslim will not come in Waqf. There is no such provision. He alleged that minorities are being intimidated for vote bank.
At the same time, during this time all the leaders of the opposition appeared united against the bill. Asaduddin Owaisi has fiercely raised the Modi government against the Waqf Amendment Bill. Owaisi has described this bill as a direct attack on social, economic and religious rights of Muslims. Owaisi has described this bill as a direct violation of Articles 14, 25 and 26 of the Constitution.
