Accusing the opposition parties of dividing the society, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that what Mughal ruler Babar’s army did in Ayodhya and Sambhal and what is happening today in Bangladesh has the same DNA.
Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement, said that Adityanath should not talk about DNA.
Lord Ram had united this entire society – CM Yogi
After inaugurating the 43rd Ramayana Mela here, Adityanath said, “Lord Ram had united this entire society. If we had given importance to unity and had not allowed the strategy of the country’s enemies to succeed, this country would never have become a slave. Our pilgrimage sites would never have been defiled. A handful of invaders would not have been able to attack us and the brave soldiers of India would have crushed them.”
Without naming anyone, the Chief Minister said, “But those who created obstacles in this society became successful. Those doing caste-based politics are still active in tearing apart the social fabric.”
The DNA of the acts committed in Ayodhya and Sambhal is one – CM Yogi
He said, “You see what kind of activities our enemies are doing in the neighboring countries. The same acts that a general of Babar did in Ayodhya and Sambhal 500 years ago are happening in Bangladesh today. The nature and DNA of the acts at all three places are similar.”
Yogi Adityanath said that if anyone thinks that what is happening in Bangladesh will not happen here then he is delusional. He said that divisive elements are already standing here and are spoiling the social fabric.
The Chief Minister said, “There are many people among these divisive forces who have bought properties in foreign countries and if any crisis arises here, they will run away to those places and leave people here to die. That’s what they do.”
Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh in August this year, there have been reports of widespread violence against religious minorities, including the Hindu community, in the neighboring country.
Akhilesh Yadav retaliated on DNA statement
Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at Adityanath’s DNA statement and said that he is ready to get his DNA tested provided the Chief Minister also gets his DNA tested.
“I don’t know how much science the chief minister knows and how much biology he has studied but I want to request him that he should not talk about DNA,” Akhilesh told reporters in Kanpur.
He said, “Through you (media), I am saying this with full responsibility that they should not talk about DNA. If he talks about DNA then I am ready to get the DNA test done and the Chief Minister should also get his DNA test done.”
Akhilesh said, “Talking about DNA does not suit him (Chief Minister Yogi). Being a saint, a yogi wearing saffron robes, he should not talk about DNA.”
