Uscirf Commissioner Asif Mahmood: Efforts are being made to tarnish India’s image in the United States. The United States International Religious Freedom Commission (USCIRF) has released a report on India, which India has rejected on Wednesday (26 March). Regarding this report, India said, “The allegations being made by the Commission on the lively multicultural society of India, not its real concern about religious freedom, but reflects a planned and intentional agenda.”
New Delhi, in its response, termed this report as biased and inspired by politics. India said that the Commission’s attempt to tarnish the image of India’s democracy and tolerance will never succeed. Apart from this, India also called USCIRF a concern.
