Gautam Gambhir’s big disclosure
Gautam Gambhir said that it is not in his bus to take Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli in the team as the selection committee selects the team. Gambhir said that as a coach, his work is only to prepare the best playing-11 from the squad.
Gambhir said, “The recognition that is made by the coach prepares the team, it should be abolished. Neither used to choose the earlier coach team nor do I do so. The selectors would be able to answer this question better than me.”
Team India’s blueprint
Gautam Gambhir is going to hold the post of Head Coach of Team India for the next 2 years. In such a situation, Gambhir was also asked the question whether Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been given a place in the team that they have prepared.
Gambhir replied, “If both of them are able to give their best, then definitely Virat and Rohit should remain a part of Team India. When you start and end the career, it is your personal decision. SomebCI, coach or selector cannot tell you when your career should end. If someone has refused, you are not fit, then play for 40 and 45 years.”
