New Delhi. Hyundai unveiled its much awaited Creta EV today. The SUV EV will be launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Hyundai Creta EV will be available in four variants – Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence. Two battery options will be available in Hyundai Creta Electric. The range of 42 kWh battery pack will be 390 kilometers while the range of 51.4 kWh battery pack will be 473 kilometers (Hyundai Creta EV Range). The company has not given any information about the electric motor specification of the EV. Hyundai claims that Creta EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
The design of the EV is similar to the petrol and diesel Creta but with a slight EV twist. Its front fascia is similar to the Creta N Line, with a blanked-off grille and gloss black cubicle elements. The charging port is located in the middle, below the Hyundai logo. It has four retractable air vents, which improve aerodynamics and keep the electric motor and battery cool. There are 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, which are similar to those on the Tata Nexon EV. At the rear, the taillights are the same as the Creta, but the EV gets a new bumper with black trim and pixel-like elements below the boot gate.
Interior and Features
Hyundai Creta EV has been given dual-tone interior. The interior layout is almost similar to the standard Creta, but some changes have been made to it. It has a 3-spoke steering wheel like the Hyundai Ioniq. New controls have been provided for the electric version in the lower center console. There are two digital displays on the dashboard, panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and drive modes.
Safety Features
Hyundai Creta EV is equipped with 6 airbags (standard), 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS (like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist). This vehicle has a DC fast charger which can do 10-80% charging in just 58 minutes. Also, it is provided with 11 kW AC charger which can do 10-100 percent charging in 4 hours. Hyundai Creta Electric will compete with Tata Curve EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti E Vitara. The company has not yet disclosed its price.
