Somy Ali and Salman Khan were in a relationship with each other for a while, after they broke up. Somy has opened up in several interviews about how Salman used to abuse her physically. Salman was in a serious relationship with Sangeeta Bijlani and was just about to get married to her. Their wedding cards were also out but that’s when Sangeeta had caught Salman cheating on her, with Somy.
In an old interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Somy was told that she’s the first person who has come out and spoken about the fact that Salman used to hit her. Reacting to it, Somy said, “I’m not the first one. Aishwarya (Rai) filed an FIR against Salman. She submitted a stay away order to the court against Salman. Toh sabse pehle joh wali aur courageous person That’s Aishwarya. Court. She was the first courageous woman to do so. After that, I came out on social media and vented everything.”
She also had said that she was really naive as in the 90s, in all her interviews, she told everyone that Salman used to hit her only because he cared for her. ‘They told me that I hit you because I care for you. Main padosan ko toh nahi maarta na (I don’t go and hit neighbor or any random woman. I hit you because I care about you).’
Somy had said that she had come to Mumbai from UK, just to marry Salman. She joined movies and also did a film with him which never released. She later had confessed her love for him and they got into a relationship for a brief period.
