The Union Minister said that Rajasthan is moving towards becoming a leader in the field of solar energy. He said that the country’s energy demand will double by 2032, and the target is to produce 500 GW through non-fossil energy by 2030, in which Rajasthan will play an important role.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the aim of the state government is to make Rajasthan not only self-reliant in energy but also to establish it as an energy surplus state. He said that MoUs worth Rs 4 lakh crore have been signed with central undertakings in the energy sector, out of which work has started on projects worth Rs 1.7 lakh crore. The target is to increase the state’s renewable energy capacity from 30 GW to 125 GW in the next four years.
Renewable Energy Policy and Employment Opportunities The Chief Minister said that the recently implemented Rajasthan Integrated Clean Energy Policy will boost investment and create employment opportunities for the youth. The state government is also adopting modern technologies like pump storage and battery storage.

Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar said that by November 2024, Rajasthan has achieved 30 thousand MW renewable energy capacity. The state’s renewable energy resources have an estimated potential of 426 GW, which is equivalent to 26 percent of the country’s resources.
