BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has given a big statement on the start of the tournament.
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla told in a media interview that at present, IPL 2025 is being postponed for a week. He said that after taking stock of the situation, new schedule will be announced by talking to the Government of India, talking with partners, all franchisees and broadcasters. Rajiv Shukla further said that as far as the safety of the players is concerned, the entire team of BCCI is proud of the Indian Army. He determined that the BCCI stands in support of the Government of India and the Army with full perseverance.
Remind you that the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match was stopped in the middle on Thursday. On one side, the fans were sent out of the field, while the players were sent back to their hotel as soon as possible. Later, IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal revealed that power cuts and floodlight malfunctions were used as an excuse to prevent incidents like a stampede in the field.
There have been 58 matches in IPL 2025, although it is not yet clear whether the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match will be done again or not. At least 12 matches remain in the league stage.
