

Haj pilgrimage has started in Saudi Arabia from June 4. For this, by Sunday, 14 lakh registered pilgrims have reached Mecca, while millions of people are yet to come.

This year, about 1.75 lakh people from India will reach Mecca. This year, more than 1.5 million Zarine from all over the world have reached Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. A government spokesperson gave this information on Wednesday (June 4).

Last year, more than 16 lakh Muslims from all over the world performed Hajj. The journey is between the 12th to 12th date of Jill-Hija (4-9 June in 2025) of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is considered necessary for the economic and physically competent Muslim to perform Haj at least once in life.

Hajj is a spiritual and essential religious duty of Muslims. Every Muslim who is physically, financially and mentally capable and healthy.

Haj is mandatory for Muslims to perform Haj at least once in their lives. Every year about 25 lakh Muslims from all over the world participate in this sacred journey.

During the Haj, Muslims revolve around the Kaaba (Betullah) and spend time in the worship of Allah. Hajj is a chance for Muslims to get rid of sins, spiritual purification and come close to Allah.

The beginning of Haj is considered from the time of Prophet Ibrahim. It is believed that Ibrahim and his son Ismail built the Kaaba on the orders of Allah.
