InterGlobe Aviation, the company operating budget airline IndiGo in India, has made a profit of Rs 2,449 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25. There has been a decline of 18.6% on annual basis.
In the same quarter a year ago (Q3FY24), the company had a net profit (consolidated net profit) of Rs 2,998 crore. At the same time, in the last quarter (July-September 2024) the company had suffered a loss of Rs 987 crore.
Revenue increased by 13.7% to ₹22,111 crore
In the October-December quarter, IndiGo’s consolidated revenue from operations increased by 13.7% year-on-year to Rs 22,110.7 crore. In the same quarter a year ago i.e. in the third quarter of FY24, the company’s revenue was Rs 19,452.1 crore.
Indigo is India’s largest airline
Indigo is the largest airline in the country in terms of market share. The company’s share in the Indian airline market is about 63%. It was founded in 2006 by Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal. It operates more than 2000 flights daily.
Indigo flights operate on more than 80 domestic destinations and more than 30 international destinations. It connects 110+ destinations. The airline has a fleet of more than 320 aircraft. It has more than 50 crore customers.
Indigo’s shares have risen 43% in one year
After the quarterly results, Indigo shares closed at 4,162.25 with a gain of 0.66%. The company’s shares have given a return of 43.03% in the last one year. However, it has fallen 9.76% in the last one month, 4.88% in 6 months and 9.43% since January 1 this year. The market cap of the company is Rs 1.61 lakh crore.
