Pakistan and Elon Musk: Pakistan is going through a period of crisis these days. The government does not have money to run the country. Every day Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif keeps asking for money from institutions like IMF and World Bank. Even though the condition of Pakistan is bad, still the arrogance of those running this country is not showing any signs of diminishing. We are saying this because a committee of the Pakistan government wants to apologize to Elon Musk for a small thing.
In the city of Rotherham, England, a case of giving drugs and raping 1400 girls under 16 years of age by a gang was revealed. Its investigation revealed that most of the gang consists of people of South Asian origin. The largest number of these people were people of Pakistani origin. In this matter, Musk had criticized such people of Pakistani origin on his social media platform ‘X’. After this, when India’s Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote on X that this gang is not an Asian grooming gang but a Pakistani grooming gang. Why should the entire Asian people endure this blame for a completely evil nation? So in his reply, Elon Musk had also written ‘correct’. Pakistani MPs are angry with Musk on just this matter.
The issue of apology came up during the discussion on Starlink’s license.
Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet company needs a license to operate in Pakistan, they are still waiting for the approval of the Pakistani government. For this, the Information Technology and Telecommunications Committee of the Pakistan Senate called a meeting to discuss the license of Starlink. In the same meeting, the MPs first raised the issue of getting Musk to apologize for his comments.
Committee chairperson Pallavsha Mohammad Zai Khan said that before the discussion, many MPs criticized Musk’s comments on ‘X’. These comments were considered ‘anti-Pakistan’. Pallavsha Khan told news agency AFP that the committee members say that the license approval for Starlink should be given on the condition of amnesty. However, Pallavasha Khan later clarified that we are not saying that this should be a condition, but it was part of the discussion and we can only give our recommendations to the government.
