Cold and fog continued in some parts of Rajasthan on Friday and Vanasthali recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, there was dense to very dense fog at some places in the state.
According to the department, the minimum temperature in Mount Abu, the only hill tourist destination of the state, was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius on Friday morning. In the plains, minimum temperatures were recorded at 6.1 degrees in Sriganganagar, 6.2 degrees in Alwar, 6.3 degrees in Nagaur, 6.4 degrees in Pilani, 6.5 degrees in Chittorgarh and Anta Baran.
Most major cities across the state recorded minimum temperatures below 8 degrees Celsius. State capital Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius on Friday morning. The department has predicted relief from the harsh winter with the possibility of increase in maximum and minimum temperatures in the state in the coming days.
