In a report of Rev Sports, it was told that the decision to drop Rohit Sharma from the Sydney Test was not only of Gautam Gambhir, but Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was also involved in this decision. Rohit’s continuous flops were becoming difficult for him and after the fourth Test played in Melbourne, the demand for dropping him intensified.
It was told in the report that after taking advice from Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, the decision to drop the hitman was taken. It was further mentioned in the report that Rohit Sharma wanted to play the Sydney Test, but Gautam Gambhir decided to bring Shubman Gill back in the playing eleven. Gill was dropped from the playing eleven in the fourth Test of the series played in Melbourne.
