Gautam Gambhir is also becoming a victim of criticism
After the defeat at the hands of Australia in Melbourne, not only the players of Team India are being criticized but the head coach of the team Gautam Gambhir is also being criticized heavily. At a time when Team India’s eyes are on the last Test match, a report has come about Gambhir, in which it has been told that he was made the head coach of Team India under compulsion.
BCCI did not want to make Gambhir a coat
In a report by news agency PTI, a BCCI official said that Gambhir was never the board’s first choice for the role. This thing was in front of everyone from the beginning because the board wanted to make VVS Laxman the coach, who, like Rahul Dravid, was handling the responsibility in the National Cricket Academy. Apart from this, BCCI had also contacted foreign giants but things did not work out.
Gambhir is not BCCI’s first choice
Regarding how Gambhir was forced to become the coach, a BCCI official, on the condition of anonymity, revealed, “He was never the first choice of BCCI, whereas some renowned foreign coaches do not want to give coaching in all three formats. So the board had to compromise (to make Gambhir the coach). Of course there were some other compulsions as well.”
Many stains on Team India under Gambhir’s coaching
Gautam Gambhir took over as the head coach of Team India in July. After this, spots were seen appearing one after another on the Indian team. Team India had to face a historic defeat in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. After this, New Zealand created history by entering the house and wiping out the Blue Army. After which there was hope on Australia tour, now the Indian team is in a hurry here too.
After winning the IPL, Gambhir was made the coach.
Gautam Gambhir’s coaching career is not very long. For example, Rahul Dravid had experience as a coach in domestic cricket. But Gambhir was a part of the KKR team in IPL as a mentor. KKR became the champion and he was named the head coach of Team India. Now the effect of lack of experience is clearly visible.
