HTS Commander offers Amnesty to Soldiers: Commander Abu Mohammed al-Julani, the head of the rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Syria, said on Tuesday (December 10, 2024) that Syria’s new regime will release a list of Bashar al-Assad officials who “kill the Syrian people are responsible for torturing.”
Al-Julani further said, ‘Anyone who provides information about senior military and security officials involved in war crimes will be rewarded.’ He also said that he will leave no stone unturned in holding war criminals and murderers accountable.
In a statement issued by the Military Operations Command, the HTS commander said, “We will pursue war criminals and also demand their arrest from the countries to which they have fled.”

However, HTS commander Abu Mohammed al-Julani said Syria’s new government was committed to granting amnesty to those “whose hands are not stained with the blood of the Syrian people” and to all army personnel who served as mandatory soldiers under the Assad regime.
