Israel Military Operation: Two days after the recently implemented ceasefire in Gaza, Israel has launched a major military operation in Jenin camp in the West Bank. In this operation called ‘Iron Wall’, the Israeli army has so far killed 10 Palestinians, while more than 40 people have been injured. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described this operation as a decisive step towards ‘eliminating terrorism’.
According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, the purpose of the ‘Iron Wall’ operation is to end terrorism in Jenin. The Israeli Army, Police, and security agency Shin Pet are involved in this operation. This campaign has been started in view of increasing tension and terrorist activities in the West Bank.
Response of Hamas and Islamic Jihad
Hamas has called on the people of the West Bank and the revolutionary youth to organize and increase the struggle against the Israeli campaign. The Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, also confirmed the firing on Israeli soldiers and called for opposition to the Israeli campaign in the West Bank.
Israeli bombing of Jenin camp
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Israeli planes bombed Jenin and armored vehicles surrounded the refugee camp. Local reports said that ambulances were being prevented from entering the camp. Heavy deployment of armored vehicles and bulldozers has been seen in Jenin.
10 killed in Israeli operation
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 10 people have been killed so far in this military operation, including 9 men and a teenager. 40 people have been injured in the attack, due to which tension in the area has increased further.
